The team at Providence Pest Control are experts at protecting your family and pets from fleas! First, we will discuss with the customer where they are experiencing fleas and how they think the problem started.
We recommend that dogs and cats be kept on regular vet-approved flea programs. We provide a flea prep sheet and protocol so that the infested area can be prepped before treatment. We will treat the infested area for fleas using at least 2 liquid products and methods. The first product is meant to kill the adult fleas as quickly as possible and leave a residual to kill new adult fleas as they emerge. The 2nd product, normally in the form of an aerosol, is an insect growth regulator meant to keep the flea eggs and flea larvae from making it to the next stage.
After the area has been properly prepped and people and pets are out of the rooms we will do a walk-thru. We will make sure that all belongings are off the floor and nothing is in the area that doesn’t need to be treated.
Next, we will broadcast materials using a fine fan spray to ensure that areas where the fleas are hiding and where fleas have dropped the eggs are treated. We will follow this up with an aerosol insect growth regulator treatment in the same areas. After the treatment, we will discuss with the customer what to expect and follow up steps they should take once the areas are dry such as thoroughly vacuuming and discarding the vacuum bags outside the home.
Our exterior flea treatment involves the broadcasting of liquid residual materials onto the infested areas. All humans and pets will need to stay out of these areas for 3-4 hours or until completely dry.

Yes, fleas are dangerous. Not only are their bites painful they have also been known to spread diseases such as bubonic plague, typhus and tularemia.
The treatment of fleas needs to start at the source. The pets must be on a regular vet-approved program and the areas where fleas are likely to hide and drop their eggs must be treated. The treatment of fleas can be very difficult so hiring a pest professional is the best way to insure that your home or yard is rid of fleas as quickly as possible.
Pet meds treat the pet and will ensure that fleas that try to bite the will die however your yard could still become infested and you or your pet could still bring fleas in with them into the home.
The liquid materials we will use to treat the exterior surfaces where the fleas are infesting requires you remain out to the area for 3-4 hours or until completely dry.
