Our bed bug treatment involves the application of residual materials in areas where bed bugs are likely to be hiding and the use of a commercial heat/steam machine in sensitive areas where the application of products is not possible. The combination of the two methods assures the current infestation is dealt with swiftly and on-going.
To an untrained eye, spotting a bed bug infestation can prove to be difficult. And, if you discover bed bugs in your home, do-it-yourself remedies and over-the-counter solutions are often ineffective. The highly-trained team at Providence Pest Control will assess your situation, implement a solution, and monitor activity to ensure our bed bug treatment works.
Our inspection process begins with a conversation with the homeowner about what they are experiencing and where they have seen the activity. We then begin the manual process of searching the areas where bed bugs are likely to be hiding using high-powered lights and detecting tools. This process could include taking apart beds and frames looking for signs that the bed bugs leave behind. Once bed bugs are positively identified we will discuss room preparation and the treatment process.
Room preparation is vitally important to the success of a bed bug treatment. We ask our customers to prep the room so that we can thoroughly treat all possible hiding spots. This work includes discarding heavily infested mattresses and box springs if determined necessary, washing and drying all bedding, sealing bedding in plastic bags or airtight containers, emptying contents of furniture in the room that needs to be treated and sealing the belongings in airtight containers, vacuuming the room as
thoroughly as possible and discarding the vacuum bag in a plastic bag outside the home, moving furniture away from the walls and removing pictures from the walls.
Our treatment involves the application of residual materials in cracks and crevices throughout the room where bed bugs are likely to be hiding and the use of a commercial heat/steam machine that applies streams of steam at 200 degrees into sensitive areas like the mattress and box spring. The combination of the two methods is designed to kill bed bugs instantly and provide ongoing protection. We also highly recommend encasements be installed on the mattress and boxsprings after our
treatment.
At Providence Pest Control, we take pride in a job well done, so you can count on our pest control team to arrive promptly and to work hard every single time you call us for our services. With more than 7 years of experience in the pest control industry, we have developed extremely effective processes and techniques that are sure to eradicate your home’s pest problem.
In the case of a heavy infestation, it is recommended that the mattress and boxspring be discarded. Our technicians can help you determine if this will be necessary during the inspection process. We highly recommend mattress encasements be installed on any bedding after the treatment process has been completed.
